As calls for racial justice are being heard all over the world, I've been trying to absorb as much as I can this week. Podcasts, news, videos.. anything.
If any one has any recommendations on materials that have given you a better understanding and insight, I would love to hear them.
Before we just 'get up, and over' this weeks headlines, a minute.
It feel pretty unsettled that I'm here, able to just carry on as per, knowing the hurt that the world is feeling and the devastation that so many have felt for a very long time. And in the midst of a pandemic.
This week has left me, like many, feeling embarrassed, overwhelmed and guilty about how little I have paid attention to the deep and perverse history of our nation and many other nations around the world.
The fact that I have lived on this land for nearly 30 years without a full understanding of the systematic racism that is entrenched within is mind blowing.
And now trying to perceive WTAF I can do about it. For now, I'm focusing on listening carefully and educating myself.
