In recent years many leaders have been successful at normalizing racism. Let’s let it be known within our families. communities and nation, that we will speak up wherever we see it taking place both within the systems that keep it in place and to those individuals who continue to spread it’s virus. Let’s show our children and their children that it is normal to speak out against racism, bigotry and hate, that it’s our responsibility to tear down the systems upon which they are built, with equity, justice, education, healthcare and economic opportunities for all. And let’s do it with wise well conceived strategies in our minds, persistence in our actions, and love in our hearts, until there is a cultural shift in which the overwhelming majority of people recognize that racism is something not to participate in, benefit from, or to ignore, but rather something to stand up against wherever it rears it’s ugliness.
