ケヴィン・スミスさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ケヴィン・スミスInstagram)「FAKE NEWS TOO! Quarantine cleaning my office and I found all the fake newspaper stories about the rise of comic book men Holden McNeil and Banky Edwards that, with the @allredmd #bluntmanandchronic art, made up the opening credits of my 1997 film CHASING AMY. This faux article was from the #tworivertimes (a Red Bank newspaper which was once owned by #geraldorivera). The article charts the emergence of BankHoldUp - the comic book company the boys begin with a black & white book called “37.” I wrote all the fake news myself so each piece included backstory and foreshadowing. In this Two River Times tale (fictionally credited to actual Two River Times journalist Claudia Ansorge), Banky and Holden not only reveal that they’re looking for a Red Bank office (where the story took place in much of #chasingamy), you can also see the start of their fraying dynamic (with Banky being an obnoxious loudmouth and Holden coming off more like a thoughtful artist). And it doesn’t take an analyst to see how the Holden and Banky rise from obscurity to local fame with a black & white comic book parallels my own story with #Clerks. Their more mainstream Bluntman & Chronic comic was a commentary on how I had depicted @jayandsilentbob in #Mallrats versus how they are presented in Clerks (as @jaymewes points out before they leave the diner). Yet ironically, it was the self-critical creation of #Bluntman and #Chronic in 1996/97 that would eventually furnish the plot devices for both #jayandsilentbobstrikeback and #jayandsilentbobreboot (including the Holden Reboots bit, which may be my favorite scene I’ve ever written). Keen eyes will notice a flashback reference to Mallrats and a flash-forward reference to #Dogma. Also pictured: a ticket stub for Amy and a promotional bar coaster and notepad (that looks like a book of matches). Tomorrow I’ll show you more fake headlines and articles about the rise of Holden and Banky. #KevinSmith #bluntmanandchronic #movies #movieprops #benaffleck #jasonlee」5月26日 23時30分 - thatkevinsmith
