Ladies doing the #SWEATChallenge, if you're a beginner or are coming back to exercise after a break, first of all WELCOME! Secondly, I want to talk about a few 'side effects' of exercise that you might be feeling during your workouts. I'll never forget my first time in the gym after giving birth to Arna, I felt all of these things!! I want you to know all of these symptoms are REALLY common, and nothing to stress about.
During your workout, it's totally normal if:
➕Your muscles burn a little bit
➕You sweat a lot, or don't sweat at all
➕You feel thirsty
➕You are out of breath
➕You get a runny nose
➕You need to go to the bathroom
➕You get itchy skin
You're not doing anything wrong, but there are some things you can do to help.
✅ Warm up and cool down before your workouts
✅ Try one of my foam rolling recovery sessions on the #SWEAT app
✅ Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated before your workout
✅ Give your body some time to digest after a big meal
✅ SLOW DOWN... take a few sips of water if you start to feel a bit dizzy
✅ Focus on your breathing and make sure you're not holding your breath
Most importantly, KEEP GOING! Your body will get stronger and these side effects should become easier to manage throughout the challenge.
