SECRETS TO NEVER GETTING SICK

As a professional athlete, my schedule is often full of training, travel, planning, studying the game, and competition. On top of that, I am currently pursuing a firefighting career. My days can be long and draining, but I haven’t gotten sick in years, and I believe I owe it in part to doing these things:

Drinking a ton of WATER (especially when I feel something coming on). Water oxygenates your blood and flushes our harmful toxins from your immune system.

Eating GARLIC. Garlic can be crushed, chewed or sliced to produce allicin, which gives it its immune-boosting properties.

Eating ONIONS. Onions have amazing antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

Drinking diluted raw organic APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. An alkaline environment helps kill bacteria and viruses.

Consuming OREGANO OIL. Oil of oregano is now recognized as an active antimicrobial and potent antioxidant that can help safeguard from cold and flu symptoms.

Cooking with COCONUT OIL. Recent research has shown that coconut oil has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial action.

Walking barefoot. EARTHING (or grounding) refers to the discovery of benefits—including better sleep and reduced pain—from walking barefoot outside or sitting, working, or sleeping indoors connected to conductive systems that transfer the Earth's electrons from the ground into the body.

Getting enough SLEEP. Sleep helps the body redistribute energy resources that are primarily used for brain and muscle work to the immune system. During sleep, the immune cells get out of the circulation, settle in the lymph nodes, and start getting ready for the next day of work.

Getting SUNLIGHT exposure. Sunlight increases levels of healthy vitamin D, and has been found to boost infection fighting cells in the skin.

Doing COLD therapy. Cold showers, jumping in the ocean, and cryotherapy (@truenorthcryo is my favorite) are some examples. It reduces inflammation, swelling and sore muscles. It also leads to improved quality of sleep, more focus, and an improved immune response.

SMILING. A smile is a simple yet oh so powerful thing.
