For the most part, yes, unfortunately there are so many people on insta trying to sell you workout plans by highlighting your insecurities. By promising that all your worries will fade away when you reach that goal weight or goal size. . But this couldn’t be further away from why *I* want you to work out. It’s never been about weight loss for me. From day 1, it’s been about feeling your freaking BEST. Because I personally went through that internal transformation. I went from thinking “EFF WORKING OUT! I’m fine the way I am!” to NEEDING to work out and eat healthy, otherwise my health problems would eventually turn chronic. And I wasn’t about to go down that lifetime-of-prescription-medicine-life. (NOT knocking prescription medication. But sometimes it IS avoidable as long as you make the right lifestyle changes before it’s too late. This was exactly my case.) . So yes, most of the time, fat loss IS a side effect of my workout programs. And if fat loss is your goal, cool! There’s nothing wrong with that. But I will never tell you it’s going to be the key to your happiness or the answer to all your problems. I care just as much about you taking care of the person you are INSIDE as I do about you taking care of who you are on the outside. . Your mental + emotional well-being are just as important as your physical well-being. And for some, working out and the deeply ingrained, negative impact of diet culture is too much for what they currently can handle. I recognize that. But for so many, working out is a release. It’s empowering. It’s tough, yes. But it’s that exact struggle that you push through multiple times a week that allows you to see just how strong + capable you are. And this newfound strength eventually seeps over into other areas of your life... that’s when it clicks. That working out is for YOU. Not for your body, not for anyone else. For you. .
