Photo by @MichaelGeorge | In the summers of 2012 and 2013 I walked over a thousand miles on the Camino de Santiago, an ancient Christian pilgrimage through southern France and northern Spain. This image was taken one morning in France, somewhere along Le Puy Camino. The fog was shuffling through the mountain and I could hear farm animals beyond the fences on either side. It was a long stretch of nothing and I hadn’t properly prepared for there to be no food or drink. I was feeling exhausted, carrying way too much photography equipment for this type of hike, and having trouble seeing the beauty in front of me. After a few more miles I found a small hut where fellow pilgrims had gathered, putting together sandwiches from leftover ingredients. They graciously asked me to join them and my good spirits returned. That night, upon reviewing my images, I found this photograph and recognized the sincere beauty I was unable to see earlier in the day. #camino #lepuycamino #pilgrimage #path #caminodesantiago
