I had a conversation today with a friend who was venting & clearly angry at a handful of things yet whenever I mentioned how angry she sounds she completely denied being angry or even emotionally affected at all.
.
Being “HEALTHY” is so much more than looking good & not getting sick.
.
Mental health & inner peace can’t be shoved to the side without affecting your entire world eventually.
.
When you don’t acknowledge pain, anger or sadness & just shove it to the side..it does not just go away.
.
Maybe you can distract or trick yourself for a little while but the further down you shove it, the more it festers & builds into something similar to a volcano.
.
The volcano could errupt in days, months or YEARS but eventually it will erupt.
.
It doesn’t look the same for everyone and after enough years of pretending to be unaffected we may likely be faced with 2 options:
1.) Finally face that pain that has probably multiplied by now. Feel and acknowledge it & let it GO.

2.) Keep trying to divert your attention & numb the pain with some of the zillion forms of addiction most of us battle in some form.

💧Drama
💧Sex
💧Shopping
💧Depression
💧Self Pity
💧Self Sabotaging
💧Anxiety
💧Constant Agitation
💧Being Offended
💧Exercise
💧Chemicals
💧People Pleasing
.
Sometimes even a healthy habit can start to feel dark because it’s becoming an escape from facing difficult emotions. I’ve been there. It’s easier than we think to get there.
.
So for whoever needs to hear it..it’s OK & normal for ALL OF US to FEEL EMOTIONS that are not fun, pretty or sexy.

Let go, let it OUT & allow yourself to break free. .
It takes more strength to face the ugly & let it out than it will ever take to ignore being HUMAN.
