I am a strong believer in fate and that everything happens for a reason. As a survivor of PIP (non-medical grade silicone scandal) breast implants that I had at 18 which collapsed when I was 25, I then underwent an implant replacement and reconstruction and had my new implants now for another seven years. Despite not “needing” to change my breasts, something inside of me made me crave change, an uncontrollable feeling to have different implants which just wouldn’t go away - so I listened to my gut instinct and booked to have surgery. As soon as Dr Serbulent saw my breasts he expertly diagnosed me as having an encapsulation - where my body’s own immune system had built a hard lining around my breast implant to try to protect me. Upon removal of my implants they were discovered to be a brand called Allergan which have since been removed from medical use for being believed to cause cancer in some patients as reported by the media. How thankful I am to Dr Serbulent for restoring my health so that I can continue to live a life of love peace positivity and happiness with my wonderful children. I hope that other women facing this can find the help they need from sharing in my experience. Breast surgery is safe when performed by a specialist with medically approved implants - somehow two reputable implant brands that I have used within 14yrs have turned out to have severe health complications and have been recalled, but I am thankful that the medical industry has advanced to spot this danger and remove them from the market to protect innocent patients from unnecessary suffering. Everybody has surgery for different reasons and I believe we all deserve the freedom of choice to do what we wish with our own bodies.
