My rent for a 2 bedroom apt is $2200/ month. This was the cheapest in west Miramar Florida and to avoid homelessness was forced to settle for something WAY outside my budget. In Florida, A college graduate starts at $38,000 a year. I made that much when I worked at Pacific sunwear as a teenager. As a MANAGER I only make $1300 biweekly. My degree means nothing down here, housing is unbelievably overpriced, and takes up over 3/4 of my monthly income. I can’t save for emergencies, and i barely break even every month. Why did I even go to college for four years?

Baby Boomers are idiots. They’re the ones who you should be against. They’re the ones who ruined the economy. We can’t afford houses at 18 anymore because of them. They made companies greedy. Affordable housing is a commodity not a right. Bernie has multiple houses and millions of dollars but he preaches anti-wealth. He’s an evident hypocrite. If you guys think government can solve this you’re very wrong. Very very very wrong. There’s nothing more expensive than something a government provides for free.

Bernie has always been an amazing talker, I’m very proud of him, he has such a passion for us, always is wanting to help everyone and I think that’s absolutely wonderful and I’m with him. but besides labeling what he wants to do, I need to know his effective plan on how we get there. Because I am not only curious, but it’s also matter of taking on so many social issues in the US that could’ve been solved years ago as well. I am not saying this post is I hate Bernie, I would just like to know more.

But Bernie. I don’t mean to be smart here or anything and I don’t wanna have a heated argument. But I have many friends who used to live in California and they said they moved out of there cause housing and pretty much everything was to expensive. And I know California has the most homeless people in the country. So what are your plans to do with California? I mean.....quite clearly everything in that state is to expensive. So what are your plans?

My son has mental illness and is homeless. He’s 35 year old and can’t work so he lives in the street. Why don’t I help him? I can’t afford to. My retirement income is less than $2000 per month. Every tim I tried to help he would get another DUI and end up in jail. He blew the money he inherited and I’ve spent 10s of thousands of dollars trying to help him. Can’t be done. I can’t help and so it goes...he’s on his own.

I don’t want to have some argument, but I can’t 100% agree with Bernie. Part of me agrees because of my morals and what I believe, but another part of me disagrees because economically you can’t give housing to everyone. Someone always has to pay for it in some way. Unless billionaires all pitch in to build apartment complexes, then that idea seems impossible to me.
