Summer 2013 and summer 2018. Around 5 years ago I started to weight train properly. Not just casually in the gym eating what I wanted because I’d exercised. I trained with a purpose and a goal. A mixture of cardio and weight training to sculpt my body and I ate the right foods to fuel those sessions. A lot of people (myself included back in the day) want a quick fix. A magic slimming pill or a slimming drink to reach whats wanted as your “body goals” My pictures are 5 years apart and it makes me feel so proud of myself that I was, and still am able to maintain what I believe is MY body goal. No rebounding, no piling weight back on weeks later. Its feeling MY healthiest, MY strongest and most importantly MY happiest. My whole lifestyle changed to achieve it but I still have the weekend pizza, Gin & Tonics with the girls, Pic N mix at the cinema and 2 to 3 rest days a week. I’m not killing myself for hours in the gym or starving myself. I fell in love with weight training when I realised Cardio alone cannot produce the typical sculpted, lean look. The body requires overload to adapt and change. This is when muscles are forced to overcome a resistance they have not experienced before. For a beginner, your body weight is a great starting point. The more advanced you get you can increase reps, sets or weight load. Ladies, increase away! Don’t be afraid of becoming “manly” 🙄 we don’t have enough testosterone to be even remotely close. Along with telling my story (So far) I’ve shared my training program, tips, words of encouragement, and loads of nutritious easy to make meals including vegan, vegetarian & gluten free in my book “THE ULTIMATE BODY PLAN” the plan has seen people lose fat, gain energy and feel their best self. The before and after pictures and messages I’ve had have been amazing (some have made me teary actually but I blame that on pregnancy hormones) 😉 For anyone wanting to change their lifestyle for the better, feel healthier, stronger, happier and have the added bonus of feeling great in their bikinis 😏 check the link in my bio!
