Summer 2013 and summer 2018. Around 5 years ago I started to weight train properly. Not just casually in the gym eating what I wanted because I’d exercised. I trained with a purpose and a goal. A mixture of cardio and weight training to sculpt my body and I ate the right foods to fuel those sessions. A lot of people (myself included back in the day) want a quick fix. A magic slimming pill or a slimming drink to reach whats wanted as your “body goals” My pictures are 5 years apart and it makes me feel so proud of myself that I was, and still am able to maintain what I believe is MY body goal. No rebounding, no piling weight back on weeks later. Its feeling MY healthiest, MY strongest and most importantly MY happiest. My whole lifestyle changed to achieve it but I still have the weekend pizza, Gin & Tonics with the girls, Pic N mix at the cinema and 2 to 3 rest days a week. I’m not killing myself for hours in the gym or starving myself. I fell in love with weight training when I realised Cardio alone cannot produce the typical sculpted, lean look. The body requires overload to adapt and change. This is when muscles are forced to overcome a resistance they have not experienced before. For a beginner, your body weight is a great starting point. The more advanced you get you can increase reps, sets or weight load. Ladies, increase away! Don’t be afraid of becoming “manly” 🙄 we don’t have enough testosterone to be even remotely close. Along with telling my story (So far) I’ve shared my training program, tips, words of encouragement, and loads of nutritious easy to make meals including vegan, vegetarian & gluten free in my book “THE ULTIMATE BODY PLAN” the plan has seen people lose fat, gain energy and feel their best self. The before and after pictures and messages I’ve had have been amazing (some have made me teary actually but I blame that on pregnancy hormones) 😉 For anyone wanting to change their lifestyle for the better, feel healthier, stronger, happier and have the added bonus of feeling great in their bikinis 😏 check the link in my bio! I'm just so sad with myself I lost 5 stone from home no help just had so much will power and I loved every minute of it I was so strict with myself confident and happy then I fell pregnant and had my little girl 6 months ago and since then I've just kept eating rubbish and I'm putting all the weight back on and I have to say I cry most days looking back at my old pictures I love my baby so so much and I want to change my diet for her to become a healthier mum I've done it before and I want to go it again I'm struggling but on another note I know I can do it I just need to be in the right frame of mind I want to lose weight again so much xxxx

Wow, seeing this really makes me more determined to give myself the kick up the arse i need to lose the weight i need too. I need a good home exercise routine and a good diet plan put in place. I do have a gym membership but find sometimes i don't have time as ivw two children and my partner works long hours so i barely get there. I just feel at an all time low and having pcos doesn't help, my symptoms are so bad and to ease them i need to lose the weight. I really need your motivation @glouiseatkinson you look amazing

@glouiseatkinson I really am looking forward to purchasing the book.... I pay for a monthly gym membership but due to severe social anxiety and my paranoia that have got much worse in the past few weeks I’ve only been leaving the house if I really have to and I’ve only gone to the gym once this whole month. But I really need to try and pull myself together as I have never been so unhealthy in my whole life and need to make changes and become a better version of myself! Your inspiring 💪x

Well I have been up and down with my weight and the longest I maintained was 3 years .. I haven't gained it all back but need to lose 2 stone.. I need some good inspirational home exercises as I'm always doing the same ones.. Just ordered your book so hopefully I can get back to goal and be happy to have my photo taken again!. You look amazing Gemma and you have one hell of a personality too.. I've never been tempted to get a tv personality health book so you're a first.. 😊

I need to start doing exercises, from home ideally as my partner works alot of hours so it's hard to fit around the children. I have pcos and need to lose some of my weight for my symptoms to improve. Along with exercise i need a healthy meal plan but dont know where to start at all. @glouiseatkinson you look amazing and good on you for keeping fit and healthy. I just need a kick up the bum and try to get to the gym more once the kids go back to school.

Aaaahh that being sucked into to thinking there’s a quick fix in your 20’s. I’ve binged, i’ve starved, i’ve dieted even though I wasn’t fat, pills, potions, i’ve punished my body with exercise, i’ve overtrained and finally ended up in hospital because my immune system was f**k€d.
At the age of 48 & peri menopausal i’m more at peace than i’ve ever been with my body and diet.
Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re an inspiration 😘
