First official walk done! We only did 10 mins and the pram had to be pushed by Nana & Granddad for most of it as my scar started to ache a little (it took about 15 mins and a watch of a YouTube video to get it in the car) 😂 It felt nice to get out though in the fresh air. Mia slept the whole time so clearly she wasn’t as excited as me, but little mile stones make such a difference to me being a first time mum. Can’t wait to get stronger and take Norm & Ollie out with us too ❤️ We missed you Papa @gorka_marquez

@glouiseatkinson good girl darling.. small steps.. soon you will feel like it’s second nature and will do it without thinking.. it took me 3 weeks to go out by myself and when I did Archie cried the whole time and I needed to go to the shop.. managed to get him in the pram and was walking round and both the front wheels came off the pram.. I was hysterical. I didn’t know what to do but a lovely lady stopped and helped me.. I literally broke down crying and said I’ve only been doing it 3 weeks can you tell.. I was trying to hold the pram up and put the wheels back on with out the baby falling flat on the floor 🙄🙈😂 fresh air and getting out of the house is really important for the both of you.. great for your mental health (not that I need to tell you that coz I’m sure you already know!) but you should be so proud of yourself.. after the wheel incident I didn’t go out by myself for weeks.. I think he was about 13 weeks by the time I felt ready to go out with out my partner. Good luck with everything .. im sure your both gonna smash it xx

Oh Gemma you are doing so so well. It literally is baby steps at this stage. Well done for not pushing yourself. Especially as you are such a super crazy active person. So good to show everyone that it's really important to take tiny steps after birth (especially a C-section!!) You are being a very sensible role model!! So sorry to hear you are in pain with your scar. So worth it to have Mia here with you but still not nice is it. I couldn't walk for weeks after my first birth (I had a v-birth with forceps in the end so was in a lot of pain) so had to take it all super slow!! (Luckily my second birth recovery was super quick and I was back out at soft play the following week with my 15m old!! Lol) Enjoy this time as much as you can. Sending so much love from Wales xx

Your bubba is gorgeous and so are you.
I had to have an emergency c-section and I remember crying petrified for my baby and me.
It sounds like you had quite an ordeal. I’m Glad you are slowly on the mend and your little girl Is flourishing.
I ended up back in hospital twice with my scar opening up and becoming infected. It’s definitely not the easy option as a lot of people think. And it’s also frustrating as you just want to be off and back to normal.
It Takes time to get over for sure and you are doing a fabulous job with Mia.
I can’t stand these do gooders telling new mums about car seats etc and what can and can’t be done!!! You’re a much calmer person that I will ever be! 👍🏻
You take it all in your stride xx 💕

Oh god @glouiseatkinson I remember the pain of the scar after a little walk. I totally underestimated the healing time went to asda in week 4(ish). I was crippled over in pain 😢. It’s awful but I promise, one day, (around week 5 for both of my children) the pain just disappears and it’s like you have never had surgery!!! Mia is gorgeous by the way... haven’t seen you for such a long time - it’s nice to see you so happy!! Welcome to mummyhood 🧡💛💚💜

You are doing great! I remember vividly the days of a massive sense of achievement in walking round the block (5 mins max) and that being my outing for the day. What our bodies go through is traumatic and that rest and down time is so so important.. as well as the mini milestones 😘 x
