On Sunday, a gunman opened fire at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California, killing 3 people and wounding a dozen others. Among the dead was Stephen Romero, a 6-year-old whose mother was shot in the stomach and his grandmother in the leg. His uncle, Noe Romero, holds a family photograph of Stephen in this image. For several decades the event has acted as a kind of family reunion for the community, according to the festival’s executive director. There would have been more bloodshed had 3 officers not responded in under a minute, with one of them fatally shooting the gunman, who was carrying a semiautomatic rifle, the police chief said. The shooting in Gilroy took place days after 4 people were killed and 2 people were injured in a rampage through the San Fernando Valley. @sbmaneyphoto took these photos. This is a developing story. Yes, he bought the weapon of war legally, however, it was illegal to bring it across state lines. That was a small thought if any at all. So here we are again! NRA, weapons of War. Don’t need them. We need, background checks on those with mental health issue with Trump denied, also each gun owner should have their fingers printed by law enforcement, which should be no problem, as I’m sure everyone is legal, right. No more BS about, only the bad guys will have the guys. True! So where are the legal NRA gun owners! Has there been enough schools, nightclub, movie theaters, family outings in neighborhoods with families and their children, being gunned down. So, millionaire NRA Corporation with thousands of members, who by and sell Congress men and women, (Republicans) and (Democrats) who you buy and sell too. Love that funny money! I’m not even against the 2nd amendment. However, we Americans who have lost loved ones to violent gun horror, WE need to do something. SO if the NRA isn’t for their American Brothers and Sisters, Families, and children. What are you for! Your Selfish. You (NRA) won’t give an inch and our wonderful voted in leaders won’t either as they are bought and sold by the NRA. So I’m going to give you a chance. Remember one voice, along with thousands, can and will bring change. So NRA members, I challenge you to come up with your own bill. I want to see if you all have enough guts to do it.

susanimal There is a massive sadness I feel knowing that this is now the world we live in here in the US. I had friends at the festival that weekend, and while luckily they were not there at the time of the shooting, there was the moment of panic while trying to reach them when I found out about the shooting... wondering if this was going to be the one where I knew someone that got killed, got hurt, got traumatized. It’s emotionally exhausting to live with this level of fear for ourselves and those we care about.

The Gilroy Garlic Festival has been a traditional yearly festival in Northern California that has been fun and family filled not filled with racism. 🙏🏼💔
