Had the honor of speaking to the Commissioner of the @NBA, Mr. Adam Silver!✨ (Swipe for the 2nd part of the video😊🎥) I was so grateful to have the opportunity to ask the Commissioner for his thoughts on the four Japanese players creating history as well as on the global expansion of the NBA. Regardless of nationality, size, or where they've come from, seeing these players give everything they've got truly brings everyone in the arena together and moves peoples' hearts. Great work, Melodee! 🎙 That is incredible that you were invited to participate in such an exclusive and high-level press conference with the commissioner of the NBA. You really have a way of lighting-up the interview room and capturing the attention of the floor with a thought provoking question. Your diction, cadence and enthusiasm infused into the question was outstanding. You could tell Adam Silver connected with you immediately and your question resonated with him as an important topic that required a thoughtful and detailed response that would prove enlightening to the whole audience. The league is constantly expanding and growing in different ways and this really highlights a unique aspect of that transformation showing the growing participation and prominence of international players in the sport including those from Asia and Japan. Couldn't help but think of you and your reporting when seeing an article in the LA Times today showcasing the work of coach Natalie Nakase at the Summer League with the LA Clippers organization. It's a fascinating look at her rise and development as a Japanese American participating at a high level in different facets of the professional coaching world. Anyway, kudos, congratulations and accolades for such a great interview performance with Commissioner Silver 🎈💐
