thephotosocietyさんのインスタグラム写真 - (thephotosocietyInstagram)「Photograph by @andyparkinsonphoto/@thephotosociety Mute swan and cygnet – This image represents another one of those completely unplanned, serendipitous moments. With six cygnets and two adults in front of me the challenge is to try and isolate, to try and find an image that epitomises the feeling of calm and tranquillity. I’ve long tried and failed to photograph a cygnet framed by the sweeping arc of its mothers neck but I did particularly like this moment. I saw the one cygnet on its own and then as I framed the image its mother began to drift slowly into view. Right on cue the little cygnet seemed to reach up towards her, his little neck and head stretching, increasing the feeling of connection between the two. Out of site to the right are some of the other cygnets, behaving less considerately, darting around chasing anything and everything. It was fortunate too that the image was captured at first light, the raking early morning sunshine creating pools of light into which the swans would occasionally glide. When they do then it’s case of fingers crossed, hoping that they turn their heads so that the light illuminates their whole face, free of shadows and distractions. It is exactly because they are in a pool of sunlight, whilst the backdrop behind them is in shadow, that this high contrast effect has been created, my exposure set for the brightly lit adult throwing the shadowed backdrop into extreme underexposure, a thin veil of morning mist still shrouding the lake. Mornings like this have been in short supply this year, the weather it’s fair to say has not been favourable. All the more important then that if the forecast is good to get out there and make the best of it, you just never know what you might be lucky enough to see!」7月8日 5時42分 - thephotosociety
