I described plans for the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy in my 2012 NDR speech. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I visited the academy this morning and was glad to see that 7 years on, it is a bustling, lively place. Aside from a pre-school and student care, the academy conducts all sorts of activities – speech and drama, dance, robotics, and sport stacking – many of them conducted in Chinese. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Chinese language, cultural and humanities programmes are offered at different levels, from toddlers to adults. Glad to see how the academy has grown since it was first mooted. I hope to see it scaling new heights! – LHL
