I invited @clare_gallagher_runs to the Arctic because she is probably the most hard driving environmentalist I know. At the time I had no idea one of her biggest races of the year, the Western States 100, would be immediately after. Turns out, she is just as hard driving of a runner as she is for the planet. Congratulations on the win Clare! My mind is officially blown! Can’t believe the #arctictaper actually worked! Runners, I guess this is how you train for a ultra. Or maybe she would have set the course record if she didn’t love the earth so much. This picture was taken less than 2 weeks ago.

cinderskenney Wildlife refuges are all over the United States and they are there to preserve wildlife as is clear in their name. Human enjoyment and recreation are not the main mission of the wildlife refuge. Certainly natural resource extraction is not in the mission of a wildlife refuge. I lived on a wildlife refuge outside Philadelphia for one year as an Americorps Vista. wildlife refuges are just as important as our national parks and monuments. Thank you for bringing attention to them and bringing attention to this issue.

sourboy_jam @tommycaldwell I was there at the finish line tonight of Western States 100 and I heard her speak about The ANWR on the finish line podium it was amazing she spoke of it right when she got to microphone it was an epic win for her I was proud to be in the presence of greatness
