I came across this Roman gate that was built (351-361 AD) near the edge of the Austrian Slovak border. It’s made of recycled products and surrounded by a very serene feeling field of wind turbines. I thought it made an interesting portrait of environmental practices throughout the ages (intended or not) In most of the US it is now less expensive to build and operate solar power plants than it is to maintain current coal plants. This is because Germany invested heavy in solar years ago. This made it financially viable for China to get really good at mass production of PV panels which drove down the cost for the entire world. Lower carbon technologies are progressing at an incredible rate. But it takes the world coming together.

That's a pretty awesome takeaway from what would just seem like history. But as we know history helps us to predict the future. Hence the importance of the discoveries being made in Antarctica about the last time vegetation was present and what it means against our current habits and climate projections.

TommyCalwell I’m with you 100%. Sometimes it’s not about where you are but where you want to go. Would I rather have you burning a pile of plastic bottles to cook dinner. I think we all can agree we want a healthy planet.

One thing we need to know and talk more about is the environmental cost of producing solar panels. Where does all the material come from and what are the impacts in Earth?

Either its efficient or not...the most important is to bring it into the peoples awareness 👍👍👍 its everybody who can change a bit!
Enjoy Europe Tommy ;)

I drove along the U.S. Mexico border last week and passed dozens of solar and wind farms. It was heartening to see alternative energy sources in action!

So they see the opportunity to change. At the end all the energy resources roots back to sun why not directly use it this issue simple as it is
