Meet the dyeing poison dart frog (Dendrobates tinctorius). At around 2 inches (5 centimeters) long, this frog packs a potent punch. It’s native to French Guiana and northern Brazil and is mainly terrestrial, living along the humid forest floor. It eats a variety of small insects, including termites and ants, which provide it with the toxins it needs to produce its own toxic secretions. Its colors act as a warning sign to foes signaling its poison power—and those who aren’t warded off by the frog’s bright hues are in for a deadly surprise!

Protect this species by saying no to deforestation and illegal pet trading . Those are the biggest culprits of all . We can still turn things around

Is it true that, out of their native environment and not having their usual food sources available, they become less poisonous?
