The men known as the Central Park Five were teenagers when they were arrested and imprisoned. In “When They See Us,” a new Netflix series, @Ava DuVernay brings their story to life. “When we were found innocent,” said Yusef Salaam, one of the 5 men, “there was no tsunami of media that followed in the way that tsunami came out within the first few weeks when they thought we were guilty. The criminal justice system says that you’re innocent until proven guilty.
