It was built by the Alkaff family, Arab traders from Yemen who settled in Singapore. I was especially heartened to learn that the mosque conducts weekly Quranic Braille recitation classes for visually-impaired congregants. It also went through several rounds of renovations to accommodate more worshippers and incorporate elderly-friendly facilities.
