Painted at the height of Louis Ritman’s career in 1914, ‘Garden in Giverny’ is a superlative example of the artist’s ability to convey the visual effects of light and color. From 1911 to 1929, Ritman often traveled to Giverny to paint in Frederick Frieseke’s garden. Frieseke was a mentor and friend of Ritman, and neighbor to Claude Monet. The present work is a highlight of our American Art auction at 10 AM tomorrow in #NYC #SothebysAmerican
