This photograph is from slightly over a year ago for the @natgeo story, Us vs Them. I met this gentle woman who lives right along the corrugated fences that divides Mexico from the US, just south of San Diego, California, and north of Tijuana. Behind her are four examples of Trump’s prototype walls, an ominous sign of how much further we may soon divide ourselves. My return on this trip is from a much-appreciated grant by the National Geographic Society to support this important dialogue on human migration. According to the latest report from the WHO (World Health Organization), there are 1 billion migrants in the world today of whom 258 million are international migrants and 763 million internal migrants – one in seven of the world's population.
