There are certain moves for training back that just work. Take Pull ups and lat pulldowns for example, both are staples in bodybuilding that help you pack on size and width. If you’re looking for more lean dense muscle than you also have to incorporate rowing movements. An all time favorite of mine is the T-Bar row. This exercise places heavy emphasis on the mid back and helps strengthen and add thickness to this area. It’s a compound movement with secondary muscles being the rear delts and biceps. I like to focus on keeping my palms facing in and my lower back flat, with slightly bent knees. To perform the exercise I bring the weight up to my chest, keeping my elbows close to my sides. Hold and contract for 1-2 seconds, then I bring it back down to the starting position. Give a try and let me know what you think!
