Something about the mystery of origin within cues a certain spotlight within our society. To learn from our own history is one of the most symbolically human things we know I believe, and to not fully understand just how something so wondrous as a three story high human statue was created tempts that nerve on a different level. Perhaps it is an even deeper lessen to be learned though from our own past.
