Say “hi” to Pallas’ cat (Otocolobus manul)! This wild feline is native to central Asia, where it ranges from western Iran to western China. This fluffy cat has long, dense fur to keep it warm in the rocky steppes. The hair on its body is nearly twice as long as the hair on its head—creating the illusion that the critter is larger than it actually is. When on the hunt, it stalks and ambushes its prey such as pikas, small rodents, and birds.
