The sand cat (Felis margarita) can be found in the Sahara desert, as well as in parts of the Middle East and central Asia. This feline is well-adapted to its desert habitats: thick soles insulate its feet, allowing it to walk on hot sand during the day and cold sand at night. This wild cat also moves without sinking down into the sand and leaves little trace of footprints. What else? It’s known for being a “fearless snake hunter” and even goes after venomous vipers for a meal!
