Every mom out there knows the joys and challenges of getting your little ones to start eating solid food. 😂
Before I start with food, (around few months old), I begin with a dropper full of fermented veggie juice then up it to a spoonful each day. "Sour" is an important flavor that isn't usually given to babies in western cultures, and @donnamgates taught me that giving fermented foods to babies from an early age can actually lessen their desire to over-consume sweet foods.
To all the parents out there, have any of you tried Baby Led Weaning (BLW)? I would love to hear about your experiences!

Did it for both my kids! And loved it! Really makes meal prep easier with them eating same as the rest of the family.... makes so much sense - why would we start them on mushed food when they are fully capable of eating real food! Even though ‘BLW’ is a ‘new thing’ - it’s obviously what they did back in the day before manufactured food for babies became a thing! Both my kids are excellent eaters, adventurous eaters and also they developed their pincer grip quicker and I’m seeing it reflected in Max’s (5yo) writing skills today.... did you do it with Ava or would this be your first time? Also love that idea with the fermented food - never heard of that!

@dougief45 we did avocado! Also baked sweet potato (cooled and cut into a ‘French fry’ stick long enough so that top and bottom of it comes out from the first) And just pick a day and put it on the tray and they will grab it and just start gnawing away (like they do to everything right now haha.). It’s the best - and they get it quick and will be eating a variety of foods in no time. Did it with both my kids and both are great, independent eaters now. Good luck!

Began BLW last month and it's been so fun, messy, and a joy to watch him explore. Sometimes I get discouraged when he throws food but it's all new to the senses and it doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like it 😂. Just exploring. I love cooking and starting this journey with him I hope that he'll be a good eater like Mommy and Daddy. I forgot about fermented foods and how beneficial they are for you. Such a good idea. I'll start introducing those!

Do you have any suggestions for easing constipation in toddlers? Gastros advice was crazy amounts of miralax and they said from months to year. I’d like to heal her naturally

@logline pear juice is a great natural method. We used it after my daughters surgery instead of miralax.
