Look #8 Sasha @sashaknysh_omg This “plaid” suit isn’t a plaid at all. What it is is hundreds of thousands of micro sequins embroidered on to organza pretending to be a very sparkly version of a classic menswear fabric. This embroidery has been done in a factory in Italy under the incredible and fastidious supervision of a wonderful man and his sons who I met and began working with back in my Louis Vuitton days. They have produced magic and miracles for me back then and all the way thru to this past RUNWAY 2.13.19 MARC JACOBS collection. “Faking” fabrics and turning the banal into the extraordinary has always been one of my favorite tricks when it comes to embroidery. I tend to favor an all over embroidery (engineered or otherwise) rather than placed motifs. At least that’s how I (and we) are feeling right now. Always room for change however, and, we always keep an open mind as loves turn to hates and hates turn to loves, and never is now. That’s fashion! Thank God, there are still the amazingly creative, skilled in their craft, talented people who make our fantasies realities. And, by the way, it’s true!
