Look #16 Lineisy I have always had and continue to have a great love and respect for incredible quality and beautiful workmanship. This coat is not a fake fur, nor is it a clipped fur as it’s been referred to. What it actually is, is thousands of feathers hand embroidered onto silk organza. It took 100 embroiderers working 12 hours a day for 7 days to complete the embroidered fronts, back, sleeves and stole. They were then sent to NYC where they were assembled and lined in satin duchesse. Every season we try to challenge ourselves- to make and finish clothes more beautifully, to engage people with extraordinary skills and a learned craft....to preserve quality, skill and craftsmanship in this era of printed t-shirts and hoodies. It is not haute couture as defined by the French and their strict codes and rules, but, it is the closest we can come to respecting the exquisite nature, spirit, values, tradition and skills of couture. As I was always taught growing up, quality rather than quantity. Hopefully, what we do and sell in other areas and categories will afford us to continue to learn and to grow in this area, and, never lose our passion for the extraordinary and the talented people who can make these fantasies realities.
