Like some sort of dream. Reality is still blurry from sleep deprivation, however, I do remember very clearly what I felt at this moment. I felt excited and grateful and proud. While there is a long list of people coming, and many more RUNWAY 2.13.19 MARC JACOBS posts to come this one is about Christy @クリスティー・ターリントン who agreed to do our show after being absent on any runway for over 20 years . As I recall, the last show she walked was my Fall/Winter 1994 show when Robert Duffy and I re-started our company. Back then she had stopped doing shows and promised me that when we started up she would come back to walk one last time for me. She kept her promise and did just that. We have been friends for many years and we have worked together on many things. Christy’s beauty, charm and extraordinary character is undeniable. After the rehearsal I sat alone on the floor of the dark, vast, enormous Armory and Christy came out with Nick for one more walk thru on the runway. She wanted to get the pace and timing right. I sat there and watched her and just could not believe it. She came back for me- again! I can only imagine what an emotional thrill it was for the audience when she closed the show. I know that I cried and was overwhelmed with emotions as I watched her on the monitor backstage.
