My Gingerbread Bagel from scratch???? - Yes, I know it's easy to go buy bagels from the store, but the satisfaction of making your own at home can't be beat! And they are so good! - Ingredients: ?2 teaspoons - active dry yeast ?2 1/2 tablespoons - #flavorgod gingerbread cookie seasoning ?1 1/2 cups - warm water ± 1/4 cup ?3 ½ cups - bread flour or high gluten ?1 ½ teaspoons - #flavorgod Himalayan Salt &a Pepper ?2 - eggs / for egg wash - Directions: ?In ½ cup of the warm water, pour #Flavorgod gingerbread and yeast. Do not stir. Let it sit five minutes, then stir well. ?Mix flour and #flavorgod Himalayan salt in large bowl. Mix. Than Make a well in middle, pour in liquid yeast mixture. ?Pour 1 cup of the remaining warm water into the well. Mix and stir in the rest of the water as needed. (You want moist & firm dough after you have mixed it). ?On floured countertop, knead dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Try working in as much flour as possible to form a firm and stiff dough. ?Lightly brush large bowl with oil,add dough ball. Cover bowl with a wet paper towel. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, (dough will rise)Once Hour is up, push dough down, and let it rest for another 10 minutes. ?Divide dough into 8 pieces dough ball. ?Press your finger into the center of each dough ball to form a ring. Stretch the ring around finger to about 1/2 the diameter of the bagel and place on a lightly oiled cookie sheet. ?Preheat oven to 425ºFahrenheit. ?Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Reduce the heat. Use a slotted spoon to lower the bagels into water. Once bagels are in, Let them sit there for 1 minute, and them flip them over to boil for another minute. ?Once bagels have boiled, brush with egg wash and sprinkle #flavorgod gingerbread on top, transfer them to a lightly oiled baking sheet. ?Bake for 18 minutes, or until golden brown. ?feel free to slice bagels hot and fresh, spread softened butter or cream cheese.
