Photo @leecohen_pics // @instagrom801 Dave Richards, Snow Safety Director at Alta Ski Area (and my older brother) drops in to what he knows best. His life in the mountains has been markedly different than mine, but equally as impactful. As a former professional skier, full time ski patrol and first responder, Dave has witnessed more mortality in the mountains and life than he can recount. Those experiences extract a heavy toll on even the most resolute and stoic individuals. While our paths have been divergent and even combative at times, it's more than poetic that our lives and relationship are bonded by trauma and advocacy for mental health. Dave's experience is rooted in the overwhelming burden of witnessing the loss of life, often by graphic means, and his voice on the topic echoes the gravity of such experience.
