Darileni Rodríguez, 25, and her husband Francisco Soto, 23, along with children in tow, were among thousands of #families who had gathered in late November in encampments outside #Tijuana. They represent a tiny fraction of the record-breaking 258 million international #migrants, defined by the U.N. as people living outside their country of birth. Taken one at a time, each is an individual, a mixture of strengths and weaknesses, hope and despair. But collectively, they represent something greater than the sum of their parts.
