Educators, #parents, students and supporters of the Los Angeles #teachers strike wave and cheer in Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles on Jan. 22. A tentative deal was reached on Tuesday between school officials and the teachers union that would allow educators to return to #classrooms, the Associated Press reports, after a six-day strike against #America’s second-largest district. “I’m proud to announce that, pending approval by the teachers represented by [United Teachers Los Angeles] and educational professionals and this Board of Education, we have an agreement that will allow our teachers to go back to work on the campuses tomorrow,” @mayorofla Eric Garcetti announced, accompanied by leaders of the Los Angeles Unified School District and the union.
