In Auckland for my show at Auckland Town Hall tonight. Stopped off for upliftingly wonderful feast of a lunch at Baduzzi @baduzzi. So here goes: crayfish “meatballs” with pancetta, chickpeas, pecorino and carrot purée, the sweetness of the carrot perfectly offsetting the salty punch of the meatballs; fantastic grilled focaccia and tomato salad lurk back of shot; pic 2 places said tomato salad firmly in the foreground, where it belongs. It was sensational, especially with the focaccia; pic 3 is of the hapuka (a fish I hadn’t come across before today) and crayfish pasta; pic 4 is of the fabulous flat iron steak tagliata; pic 5 is of the glorious beans with baby sweetcorn and tomatoes; and pic 6 is of the gorgeous chocolate tart with raspberries, raspberry sorbet and cloud of coconutty creaminess.
