This happened on today’s sunny, cold cold january morning. I had not been been this restful and — why not, sedentary in quite a while. And as the church bells from near and far break into melodies (I swear to god they do NOT just simply RING), I feel the particles of caffeine consumed earlier, work their magic into the cells of my body. I take in this serenity as if it were oxygen. Traveling is enticing and marvelous. Oh but what a joy is it to be finally home. •
I had missed pasta and Italian food more than I thought. This bowl of “fieno” pasta (literally hay) has been entirely made with local ingredients from Tuscia Viterbese, in the north of Lazio (south of Tuscany). It’s such a simple bowl of comfort, that reminds me of those warm Autumn days when we visited this marvelous, yet often ignored part of “Bel Paese”. The recipe and many beautiful images with short trip will soon come to the blog. (You can review the journey on the Highlights too).
