Since it's a coastal city that has, for centuries, welcomed millions of visitors coming to pilgrimage and is also the major harbor for trade, the culture has always been special in accepting different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. The AlBalad [shown in the photo] is a historical area in the second largest city in Saudi. While the area has only been accepted as a UNESCO world heritage in 2014, investments in restoring the buildings and tourism have already taken place prior.
