Climate change is severely affecting Bangladesh. In some villages, 80% of the women are widows. Cyclones appear out of nowhere in greater frequency and intensity every year. The entire village comes out to say goodbye to the fishermen when they sail away, fearing they won’t come back again. Whether Bangladesh becomes one of the great human tragedies of our time or a model for the future depends on the choices its citizens, neighbors and other countries make. What happens next is in all of our hands.
