Photo by @shonephoto (Robbie Shone) // The entrance of El Cenote (cave) in the Italian Dolomites is a large vertical shaft that opens up into a great chamber at the bottom. In the entrance series sits a giant ice plug, like a cork in the top of a bottle. We headed into the cave, away from the blizzard outside and down the shaft, abseiling between the limestone wall and sliding next to the ice. Part way down, we had to cross over to the other side by making our way through a natural tunnel formed in the ice. The tunnel was formed by a warm wind blowing through the cave, and allowed us easy passage to the huge cave below. #InsideAnIcecube
