The sun sets over one of the world’s largest telescopes for a night of exploration to begin. La Palma, Canary Islands, is almost a second home to me, visiting every year to teach night sky photography to participants coming from around the world. But the island is not only home to stargazers and giant telescopes, its a well preserved paradise for nature hikers with a major national park inside and around a massive volcanic caldera.
