a place for us. my mom and I, we did our first speaking event together at her school ♥️♥️for the kids+ their parents ♥️ maybe you were like me, you were raised by immigrant parents. Mom was raised in southern japan by a family of educators + artists, she got her teaching degree at Tokyo Gakugei University. She’s been a teacher in Tokyo and in California her entire working life. Devout to her family and to her students, she never missed a class, her heart profoundly beats for japan and the US. When I once asked her why she chose to be a teacher her whole life, she told me, it was her calling and duty to strengthen the relationship between the US ?? and ?? Japan, and while many of you think my work adds to this, she’s actually the Jedi Mind behind everything I do. Thousands of people have been directly and indirectly impacted by her work. Mom & I spoke at her school The Grauer School, in Encinitas together for the first time ever. & just having her next to me, the vibrations and channels of her grace and integrity for what we do, sing to me. I cannot begin to describe depth & honour for what we do. There is nothing prosperous or honorable in this world about greed making more money or having power. There is everything about a person’s heart, watching someone follow their calling + duty so gracefully and selflessly. This is my mother. Mom, you are the grace, the love and the inspiration of our entire community. we thank you for everything, the devotion, the education & your precision. My next steps will be w directing//producing more original content wJapan and the US, so many bridges to mend and grow from + as the Japanese population declines, this is my final calling —- devotion to better journalism —- You have my word. Mom’s Principal, Dr Stuart Grauer once said “If Miho (my mom) could inherit the earth, I would give it to her” she is that vibrationally beautiful...with love + humility. remember, mom and I are not perfect, our relationship has come a long way #wabisabi. maybe have a think about your deep contributions in this world + the legacy you’d like to pave. make it something mom would be proud of. what you do on here everyday, matters. xx
