Painted in 1926, Georgia O’Keeffe’s ‘A Street’ belongs to a small but powerful series of New York cityscapes, that are now regarded among the most satisfying, painterly, and memorable of her career. The present work, together with ‘Calla Lilies on Red’ from 1928, mark the first time that works by O’Keeffe will be presented in a Contemporary Art Evening Auction. Both works are being sold to benefit the acquisitions fund of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum tonight in #NYC.
