I am guilty of neglecting my general fitness and believe that is why I got injured again. Starting my rehab i could not do a step up without looking like a wobbly unathletic mess - on either leg. I am working on building my body and mind back up in a much stronger condition overall. The thing about weightlifting- or any sport at the elite level... if there is a weakness anywhere - at some point it is going to get exposed, and used against you. Don’t make the mistake I made and stray from your GPP work and get too far in to the land of “specificity”. I have been practicing yoga twice a week and doing so much general fitness and watching and feeling my body transform is exciting. Today i was able to do an arm balance for the first time, and i know this is a very beginner pose for those super in to yoga (& maybe it isn’t perfect yet haha) but my left arm was so weak before I couldn’t come close to holding this. It had me feeling so happy to see some progress in myself that was not related to a lift. I won’t say it was the same as hitting a new PR - but feeling proud that I am making strides toward a better me. ?Bakasana
