Spent the morning in detention. :)
Hidden under the Learning Forest at the Botanic Gardens is the Stamford Detention Tank (SDT). It can store up to 38,000 cubic metres of stormwater (or 15 Olympic-sized swimming pools!) during downpours. Together with the Stamford Diversion Canal, the SDT substantially improves drainage in the Orchard Road area.
With weather patterns becoming more extreme, we cannot guarantee that flooding will never happen again. But thanks to @pubsingapore’s hard work, they should happen much less often. – LHL (Photos by Betty Chua)
