A good start to a busy day with a productive Leaders’ Retreat with President @Jokowi.
We have many projects with Indonesia. Since 2014, Singapore has been Indonesia’s largest foreign investor. Today we signed a Bilateral Investment Treaty, which together with other agreements and MOUs also signed today, will enhance our cooperation. Indonesia has sound economic fundamentals, and we will work together to support monetary and financial stability and strengthen investor confidence in the region.

Indonesia’s elections will take place in April 2019. I wish all Indonesians a smooth election, and look forward to continuing our strong, mutually-beneficial cooperation.
Finally, on behalf of all Singaporeans, I offered my condolences to families affected by last week’s earthquake and tsunami on Sulawesi, and renewed our offer to assist in humanitarian efforts. It is the right thing to do for our close neighbour and old friend. – LHL (MCI Photos by LH Goh)
