Styling (and smiling)
With Katie Grand (part 1)

For the past 16 fun and fashion filled years, I have collaborated with @kegrand We have worked together since 2002 on most of my ad campaigns, and favorite shows while @ルイ・ヴィトン and all shows and campaigns @Marc Jacobs @marcbeauty and @marcjacobsfragrances in fact my conversations regarding most creative decisions begin with a chat, a meeting or at the very least a text conversation with Katie. Katie ‘gets me’ in every way. She challenges and pushes me. Whether we agree or not, we always have a lot of laughs and ultimately achieve an end result that we are all very proud of. Katie arrived 14 days before the show. She had just returned from her summer vacation looking more fit, happy and healthy than I had ever seen her- wearing a Victorian blouse and jacket (from our S/S 2014 collection), and her @プラダ high heeled wedges with the flames shooting out of the back of her heels she was well rested and ready to go! As has been our habit, @mathewjosephcarter @ladiamond1010 @rom_scott dressed and styled @crispiccone in the first protos and toiles. Nothing yet in the correct fabric or color but enough to give a good idea of what we were up to and where we were going in terms of the fashion and ‘look’. Katie looked at everything and expressed her opinions on each dress and idea. Some with enthusiasm and many with a LOT of enthusiasm. Then I took Katie thru what we were doing in all areas. First was shoes as we had to pass the runway order the next day. This requires a lot of guess work and trusting ones instincts. At that point we have no idea of what will get finished, who will be wearing what, which style of shoe we would like to see with the possible look, and what shoe size the model might be. ??‍♂️??‍♀️! After shoes, we reviewed handbags. The samples at that point in rough mock-up state. I shared with Katie my proposed silhouettes, shapes, materials and colors. Then we edited and wrote that order for the runway. Next, a review of all the jewelry along with another edit and runway order. Then we we were on to join @lzaccheo for knitwear collection fittings/mock-ups, discussions, editing and ordering.
