I remember snorkeling on the GBR with my family for my 10th birthday. I remember seeing the corals and likening them to an underwater flower garden. So many people are moved by the beauty and diversity of the ocean and the reefs. The reef is damaged in parts, but it is still alive!
I support Sea Shepherd's Operation Reef Defence because we don’t need any more coal mines. We don’t need more warming of our oceans and climate. We need to focus on renewable energies.
The huge expansion of the Carmichael coal mine, the rail link and coal port poses serious threats. Hundreds of large ships transporting coal would rip through our sensitive coral reefs. This is the largest living structure on the planet, it's a world icon... It’s our responsibility and honour as Aussies to safeguard this underwater world of radiant life.
The natural world is depending on us, we are gathering as community to reclaim our precious Reef and collectively coming together as Australians to stop the Adani coal mine.
