Today I slept instead of going to the gym and it was bloody brilliant ? Why? A couple of weeks ago I listened to a @joerogan podcast with Matthew Walker and I can genuinely say it has changed my life ?? I have popped sleep at the bottom of my priority list for years, it’s always the thing I gave up first when life got hectic. I figured I could survive in 5/6 hours sleep and get by... how wrong I was! ? Quite frankly listening to Matthew, (a sleep scientist) completely blew my mind. He spoke about the huge evidence base linking sleep to concentration, physical performance and most importantly, every major disease in the developed world ? Ever since I heard this information I have literally gone from sleeping an average of 6 hours a night to 8. I’ve prioritised sleep more than ever before and even in two weeks I can already see and feel the difference. My focus is through the roof, I’m more efficient at work and I have more energy. It’s incredible ? I can’t recommend the @joerogan & Matthew Walker podcast episode enough, just search it on iTunes and prepare to have your mind blown ?
