Shooting on story celebrating our Wild and Scenic Rivers, I chose to go to Alaska in August to photograph this beautiful river with the fall colors of the aspen and tundra. Flying in a fixed wing airplane gave me a great vantage, and seeing this oxbow bend in the river was a nice foreground element. I did camp out on the river, and being in bear country, I had to keep my food in a “bear can” that conceals the smell of food. I have great respect for grizzly bears.
